Care Guide

Your Titanium Clicker Earrings

A quick guide to why we use titanium clicker hoops, how to open and close them with ease, and tips for everyday wear.

Built for comfort, made to last

Many of our earrings use titanium clicker hoops, precision-engineered for comfort and a secure fit. Here's why we chose them.

Hypoallergenic

Implant-grade titanium is nickel-free — ideal for sensitive ears and long wear.

Secure Closure

The hinged click-lock mechanism holds firm — no accidental opening, no lost earrings.

Lightweight

Titanium is 45% lighter than steel. Comfortable all day and night, even with heavier chainmail designs.

Clean Look

The seamless hoop design creates a sleek, uninterrupted line — no visible clasp.

How to open & close your clickers

It can feel stiff at first — that's by design. The tight closure keeps your earring secure. After a few uses, you'll have the motion down in seconds.

1 Hinge Click-Point
01

Find the hinge & click point

Hold the earring and look at the hoop. You'll see a small gap or seam — that's where the clicker opens. One side is the fixed hinge, the other clicks in and out.

2
02

Open the clicker

Hold the hoop firmly at the hinge side. With your other hand, gently push the clickable bar downward and away from the hoop. Don't pull sideways — push straight down or slightly outward.

3 Through ear Add Earring
03

Slide through your piercing

With the clicker open, guide the thin bar through your piercing hole. The straight section slides through smoothly.

04

Click it shut

Swing the bar back up toward the hoop and press firmly until you hear and feel a click. That's the locking mechanism — your earring is now secure.

Tips & common questions

It feels stiff at first? That's completely normal. New clickers are tight by design. The mechanism loosens slightly with regular use.
Use a mirror. Especially at first — it's much easier to line up the bar with your piercing.
Don't force or bend. Clickers open in one direction only (on the hinge). If it doesn't swing open, try the other side.
Nail tip trick. Use the edge of a fingernail to gently lever the click side open. Many find this easier than pinching.
Safe around water. Titanium won't rust or tarnish — shower, swim, sweat. The stainless steel chainmail is equally durable.

Not a fan of clickers?

No worries — clickers aren't for everyone. If you'd rather skip the hinge mechanism entirely, many of our earrings are also available with a classic French Hook instead. Just pick your preferred closure on the product page.
